My Experience and How I Work
I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist, who has treated a wide range of issues in a variety of settings. My approach is integrative, where I draw upon several modalities, this includes Psychodynamic (early life experiences and development), Humanistic (person centred and self-actualisation), Existential (the human condition with aspirations and limitations) and the Transpersonal (focusing on growth and potential).
As research consistently shows, the most important part of any therapy is the relationship with the therapist. Each session is as unique and individual as my client, and how I work is determined by what is presented, and the desired outcome.
There is a period of getting to know each other where there is an initial assessment and we discuss what you would like to get out of sessions. Generally, we will discuss your background, where you are now and where you would like to be. I work narratively and sometimes creatively through dreams, bodywork or art, as this can be an influential means of guidance and transformation.
The practice of psychotherapy is continually developing and I continue to educate myself through self-learning and training courses. I have a growing interest in neuroscience.
I abide by the code of ethics from UKCP and BACP
